What an odd year 2002 was for me, i was getting back into metal(though mostly Nu-Metal!) and drum and bass in a big way, i still listened to the charts and gave a fuck about them, and my big love for Hardcore/Trance was probably at it's strongest.
Here's a Spotify list of tracks from 2002, sourced from my weekly charts that i kept in my diary between 1993 - 2005 before i just stopped..... i shall post playlists from those years too but i thought i'd begin with 2002.
Every Thursday i would jot down my favourite ten tracks of the week (i used to do this whilst watching Top Of The Pops) however a lot of the stuff i listened to was not commercial and came from rave compilations or the teletext page for John Peel or other Radio One DJs. As i began making music some of my tracks were selected, but obviously they are not on Spotify and a lot of hardcore, dnb, gabba, trance and even Oasis and similar artists are missing from the library.
So i went through all 52 weeks worth of charts and this is what i managed to discover on Spotify, and before you comment, i know there are some terrible songs in there ;) They are in the order they first appear in my charts so DJ Aligator was from January & Avril Lavigne from December.
